Paul Sinha Tops Trends at The Stand

The Stand is a relatively small venue by the standards of the "Big Four" of Edfringe. With their long-held York Place spaces and the more recently acquired New Town Theatre, they're the 10th largest this year. They placed 9th in our recent Venue Analysis though, meaning they're punching slightly above their weight in comparison to some larger venues.

The Stand celebrates its 20th anniversary at the Fringe with a continued commitment to fair wages for performers and a roster that places equal emphasis on Comedy and Spoken Word shows. Thursday's press launch, hilariously hosted by Miles Jupp and Simon Munnery, featured high-profile favorites such as Alun Cochrane and Stephen K Amos.

However, it is veteran comedian Paul Sinha who is currently the highest-trending performer at the venue so far, returning with his latest show The Two Ages of Man (Daily Mentions 2.8, Positivity Share 0.3%). In second place is music-comedy-spoken-word mashup, Loki, the Scottish Rapper: Poverty Safari Live from Loki AKA Darren McGarvey, based on his 2017 book of the same name (Daily Mentions 2.4, Positivity Share 0.2%). Initial trends suggest this show will be a big hit, and we've featured it in our Ones to Watch forecast. Third in the trends (but already sold out) is Youtube personality Jessie Cave, whose cult fan base has ensured strong support online for her show, Sunrise (Daily Mentions 1.9, Positivity Share 0.3%).
