#Twintterview: Junction Theatre

Borders by Junction Theatre

Fringebiscuit sat down with Neta Gracewell ahead of her directorial debut, "Borders", presenting at VAULT Festival 2023. In keeping with the core theme of the show - the story of a Lebanese and Israeli match on Grindr who are unable to meet - the interview was designed to reflect the prompts used in dating apps. Get ready to swipe right!

FB: My most useless skill is...

NG: I sit watching my actors & unconsciously say their lines under my breath. I don't do it on purpose, it just happens. I know THE WHOLE thing.

FB: My personal hell...

NG: Is a place that doesn't have tea.

FB: Two truths & a lie...

NG: Let’s see…

  1. The show has a happy ending.

  2. It's inspired by a real story.

  3. Borders is the writer's debut.

FB: After work, you can find me...

NG: Working on something else. And with my cat.

FB: Something I learnt way later than I should've...

NG: To take breaks & to celebrate my achievements (editor's note: #shoutout to Borders!)

FB: I'll never shut up about...

NG: How much I love that this is my first independent production. It has been such a safe space to be and grow in. I'm just so happy and proud to have this team.

FB: Fun fact I'm obsessed with...

NG: Character-wise, this is our third George, and the original production in Israel had three Boaz.

FB: A review by a friend an audience member...

NG: The show is authentic, genuine and VERY HOT.

You can catch Junction Theatre’s show Borders at VAULT Festival, February 7-12.
